07/11/2012 Iran (FCNN) Iranian President Declares that Judaism and Christianity Do Not Exist- The President of the Islamic Republic openly declared in a public speech on July 10 that Islam is the only true religion. President Ahmadi-Najad stated that Allah did not createChristianity nor Judaism, but that there is only one true prophet (Muhammad) who embodies Allah’s character. He urges others to embrace Islam and the Quran as the world religious and that, until this happens, the world will not see peace or happiness. His speech perpetuates an established, widely-held belief that invokes religious persecution across the globe.Full Story

Actions such as visiting amusement parks and lifting bans on fast foods have altered the image of North Korean leadership; however, intolerant policies restricting religious freedoms remain. It is reported that over one-third of prisoners in the infamous Korean prison camps are Christians, and particularly harsh treatment of Christians seems to persist.Full Story

File:Flag of Kuwait.svg07/9/2012 United States (The Christian Post) Arizona Pastor Goes to Jail for Hosting Home Bible Study-Michael Salman was sentenced to two months in jail for hosting more than 40 people in his home for weekly worship services. Salman reports that he has been battling with the city for years about code and structural violations over hosting such a large number of people on his property. He was finally sentenced and told to report to jail for 60 days; he willingly presented himself for incarceration, although reports indicate that he was dismissed and told to return home having served no time. While it remains unclear if the city is targeting Salman’s religious beliefs or are enforcing safety codes that must be upheld, this is still clearly an opportunity for prayer and encouragement.Full Story

Pray that Salman’s worship services would continue legally, and be God glorifying.
