Two final phone interviews this afternoon resulted in the opportunity to teach part-time at Mercy College of Health Sciences' Liberal Arts School. This is a copy of the email I received...
Jeff:I am looking forward to meeting with Dr. Joe Moravec who notified me about the opening and encouraging me to apply. The class I will be teaching focuses on equipping people who are going into a health services vocation to become better equipped to serve out of their own personal wholeness.I’d like to extend an offer to you for a position of Adjunct Faculty for MCHS. Attached is your offer letter.
The MCHS campus was completed in 2005.
Please let me know if you accept the offer so that we may begin the pre-employment process. The process includes drug and nicotine screens, background checks and a health questionnaire.
Welcome!
I was told it wasn't my educational degrees that generated their interest but rather the life experiences that I can bring to the curriculum. I thought that was pretty cool.
Being able to stand in a classroom and influence people in a positive way, who may one day have the life of a friend or loved one, or even my own life; in theirs is a pretty sobering thought.
It is a part-time opportunity - two classes a week - so it should not hinder my work with Teen Challenge, but I think it will actually enhance it. I will be able to share the Teen Challenge story with more people and will hopefully learn things myself, that I will be able to use to make me a better minister on behalf of Teen Challenge. I will try to post more on the position as I learn more about it myself.
